Upper Namsen Fishing can offer fishing on some of the best salmon beats in the famous Namsen river , also known as “The Queen of the Rivers”.
Fiskumfoss beat is situated by the famous waterfall Fiskumfoss, 34,5 meters.
Downstreams the fall is one of the best salmon beats in Norway with a lot of good pools. The fishing is done mostly from the bank on this beat.
The average catch/day on an annual basis over the last years varies between 9-13 salmons !
At Øvre Mediå/Fossland beat, you can stay in our fishing lodge by the river bank. There is 6 double bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and a big veranda with sauna and outdoor jacuzi. The fishing is done both from boat and from the bank with many very good pools for bank fishing, both with fly and spoons/lures.
At Øiem-Holandsøy beat, you can stay in the Fishermens House on Holandsøy Farm, the home farm of our manager Jon Ivar Moe. In the Fishermens house there is 7 bedrooms and 2 baths, a common living room and kitchen.
A nice veranda overlooking the river just some hundred meters away.
The fishing is mostly from boat but there are also some good spots for bank fishing.
Hotel Vertshuset Grong, our hotel, is well known as “The best Salmonhotell in the World”
It has a smooth atmosphere and a very good kitchen.
The hotel has 37 rooms, all double with bathroom and TV.
Eight of the rooms are in a separate house just behind the main building.
We are working on more information in english and we hope that we can have that during the autumn 2007.

Salmon fishing in Norway is not just about catching lots of fish. You can fish for hours without catching anything but then, suddenly, something happens! And it must be this which fascinates the fisherman, making him stand in the rivers for hours on end waiting for “that feeling”?
