This was designed as a planter or "cache pot". It looks stunning in the middle of a large table when filled with a bromeliad in bloom. However it could serve punch or gazpacho equally well.

Notes:  This pot actually reminds both of us of the planter on the PBS "Mystery" series animation that shows at the start of the program. Despite its funkiness this must be a classic shape shape for a cache pot (Literally "hide pot").
