Paco and I designed this large shape and hand built the original from which we caste a plaster mold. It takes the two of us to make one. We start with 8 lbs. of clay rolled into a slab. We carefully lay this over the plaster mold and use a roller to press the clay onto the inside shape. When this is dry enough we flip the mold and clay over then lift the plaster mold off the shape.
 
I enjoy decorating these large surfaces. This pattern was directly inspired by a motif Paco used on a very unusual vessel that had 3 necks and 3 feet.
